Marie Claudie (Destra) Jean-Jerome, 74, went to be with the Lord after a long struggle with Alzheimers and Parkinsons, on August 6, 2017, at Elmwood Hills, Blackwood, NJ. Born in Haiti, she lived most of her life in Port-au-Prince before migrating to the United States in 2002. Devoted wife to the late Joseph Duta Jean-Jerome, loving mother to daughters, Karelle (Stevenson) Pierre-Jacques, Charlotte Jean-Jerome and step-daughters Dr. Kernilde Jean-Jerome and Isabelle Charles, devoted grandmother to Stephanie and Joseph. She was the loving sister of Jacques (Lilianne) Destra, Jean-Claude (Roselie) Destra, Margueritte Destra, Jean-Edouard Micheau, Margarette Saget, Tony Stinvil, Guirlene Stinvil, Darlie Stinvil and the late Estelle Saget.
Mrs. Jean-Jerome attended L’Ecole Normale Superieure in Haiti. She was an elementary teacher for a number of years. She taught at several schools in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, retiring from the Haitian Adventist School in Diquini in 1996.
She was a fervent servant of Christ and a prayer warrior. Although her memory faded, the Word of God was ingrained in her, prompting her to recite her favorite verses until the very end.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Saturday, August 12, 2017. Visiting will be held at Krowicki- McCracken Funeral Home from 9:00am until time of funeral service at 10:00am. Entombment to follow at Rosedale Cemetery 750 E. Linden Ave Linden, NJ
