Dominick Gingy De John

September 26, 1923 ~ March 30, 2019 (age 95)

Dominick “Gingy” De John 95 of Linden N.J. passed away Saturday March 30th, 2019 at the RWJ University Hospital Rahway. Dominick was retired as a Maintenance Mechanic for the Motorola Corporation in Florida. Dominick served as a Corporal in the United States Army in WWII having served in England, France and Germany. Dominick was born in Elizabeth NJ and lived in Hollywood, Fla. from 1973 to 2012

Dominick loved being with his family, giving them good advice along the way. He always had a good joke or story to tell to anyone he met.

He was pre deceased by his wife Ann, his son Sam and his granddaugher Cheryl, Also pre deceased by his sisters Mary McCracken, Ann Sabik, Millie Bacelo, Josephine Monroe and Rose Busocker.

 He is survived by his daughter Fran Getchies (Louis) of Linden, Daughter-in-law Karen De John of Atlantic Highlands, grandchildren, Michael De John (Joyce), Teri Costine, Dan De John, Connie Getchies (Jeff Moreno) and Louis Getchies Jr.

Dominick was the great grandfather of Amanda, Justin, Jessica, Dylan, Abigail, Cameron, Nicholas, Gianna, and Dominick. He was the great great grandfather of Samantha.

Dominick is also survived by his brother Vincent (Jimmy) De John and his sister Helen (Renee) De John. He also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Visiting Sunday, April 7th from 4:00 - 8:00PM at Krowicki-McCracken Funeral Home, Linden

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Monday April 8, at 9:00 am at the Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home, 2124 E. St. Georges Avenue, Linden, N.J. 07036.


Funeral Mass will be held at Saint John the Apostle R.C. Church, Linden, 10:00 am.

Cremation to follow atThe Rosehill Crematory Chapel, Linden.
