Ruth (Baum) Lucco Flynn, 88, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 1, 2018. Born in Lakewood on December 23, 1929 to the late Anjanette and Walter Baum, she resided in Elizabeth and Hillside. She graduated from Battin High School in 1947. Along with her husband Alfred, she owned and operated “Al’s Luncheonette” on East Jersey Street in Elizabeth and Magie Ave in Union. She also owned and operated “We’re Printing Today” with her husband Joseph, located on South Elmora Ave. After retiring, she lived in Whiting, East Stroudsburg, PA, Catonsville, MD and Linden. Predeceased by her husband of 25 years Alfred James Lucco, and her brother Frederick, Ruth is survived by her children Anjanette Valiante and Angelo (Michael Nelson); grandchildren Alissa Valiante, Danielle (Alexis) Luna, and Jonathan (Kayla Knode) Nelson; great grandchildren Alexander, Xianni and Ella; step-son James (Gael) Graham; grandchildren Lizbeth, Nina (Scott) Drinnan, Carla (Kurt) Nowell, Andrew (Dawna) and Christopher (Sandi), and four great grandchildren. Also predeceased by her husband of 25 years Joseph Dennis Flynn, she is survived by her step-children Dennis (Cathy), Gael (Fred) Voss and Sharon; grandchildren Frederick (Kelli) Voss, Colleen (Simon) Heald, Michael (Michele), Jonathan (Kana) Voss and Brendan (Andrea), and ten great grandchildren. Friendly to all, she will be remembered as a kind, loving and nurturing person. She had several pastime hobbies and spent countless hours babysitting her grandchildren. However, she hated her middle name (Myrtle), insisted she could not jump and – all would concur – was unable to carry a tune.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Saturday, May 5, 2018, from Krowicki McCracken Funeral Home, 2124 East St. George Avenue, Linden, NJ (908)352-9190. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home 10:00 am. Interment Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth.
